Mazu’s Birthday 2025

Hosted at Thian Hock Keng Temple, the event was overcast by stormy skies, incense smoke, and a sea of devotion. Mazu’s birthday was nothing short of electric.

I’d never celebrated it before but once the march began, I was swept up in the crowd’s energy, chasing the moment with a camera in hand.

A kind volunteer offered me a warm bowl of Mazu noodles (so good I went back for seconds). Between the prayers and procession, it was a day full of rhythm and reverence.
